Summer film nights in Lankwitz: Open-air cinema starts soon!
The anticipation of warm summer days is increasing, because in Lankwitz the open air summer cinema series invites you to enjoy film classics together in the open air. The spectacle is organized by the Paul Schneider Parish and the Steglitz District Center e.V. as part of the “Strengthening Berlin Large Settlements” program. Neighbors and friends come together to immerse themselves in the world of the film in a friendly atmosphere.
The venue, the outdoor area of the Paul Schneider church community at Belßstraße 88, offers everything you need for a successful evening at the cinema: seating is available and it is recommended that you bring your own blankets or folding chairs to make yourself really comfortable. The open air cinema series will take place from June to August 2025 and includes a total of three cinema evenings, which will be well attended as more than 100 neighbors actively participated in the film selection.
Dates and program items
The premiere of the open air cinema starts on June 27, 2025 with a musical opening. From 8:15 p.m. Gary will provide a live singing show before the film “Out of Nothing” (FSK 12) is shown at 9:45 p.m. A convivial picnic is on the agenda on July 25th. Here, visitors can enjoy fun and games from 7:00 p.m., followed by the film screening “Pretty Best Friends” (FSK 6) at 9:15 p.m.
August 22, 2025 marks the culmination of the summer cinema series with a long table to which everyone can contribute something. The film experience is rounded off here from 8:15 p.m. with the animated film “Everything is Inside Out” (FSK 0). The event not only promises good entertainment, but also the opportunity to make new acquaintances.
Special features and weather regulations
A little trick makes the summer cinema special: the films are broadcast via headphones, which creates the charming silent cinema vibe and doesn't disturb the neighbors. The headphones are available on site and visitors are welcome to bring their own blanket or folding chair.
However, in unfavorable weather conditions, such as heavy rain or squalls, appointments may be postponed. This ensures that viewers can always experience the optimal cinema atmosphere and that the open air cinema does not fall through. More information can be found on the Open Air Cinema website.
Take advantage of the opportunity, enjoy the open-air atmosphere and let yourself be carried away by extraordinary films and a great supporting program. As the saying goes: There's something coming up - so don't miss it!
