Barnim choirs inspire at the international music festival on Lake Garda!
On November 8, 2025, the Barnim choirs will look back on an exciting musical experience. Torsten Saalmann, the choir director of the Stolzenhagen Volkschor and the men's choir “Teutonia” Ladeburg, has once again demonstrated his ability to organize international choir meetings in beautiful locations. The Barnim project choir traveled to the project for the sixth time this year “18th Lake Garda Music Festival” in Limone sul Garda, which took place from October 15th to 19th.
In the spring, an information email was sent to all interested parties with the necessary details about the trip and the costs. 43 singers from 6 different choirs came together to prepare for the upcoming event at the first rehearsal in June in Stolzenhagen. The singers' commitment was rewarded: The men's choir “Teutonia” not only celebrated its 100th anniversary, but also thrilled its audience with a festival concert on October 11th in the St. Mary's Church in Bernau.
Travel and experiences on Lake Garda
On October 15th, the group set off from Berlin Central Station at 5 a.m. The journey took them by train to Munich, followed by a scenic bus ride across the Alps to Lake Garda. Their hotel, located on the shore of the lake, offered a breathtaking view that made the singers' anticipation grow with each sunrise.
The festival itself spanned three days and offered 13 choirs from 8 different countries the opportunity to show off their skills. On the second day, the Barnim singers took the opportunity to stroll through Malcesine, followed by a contemplative service in the “Madonna della Corona” pilgrimage church, where they were able to enthrall the audience with four songs. The audience's applause set a special accent and created a warm atmosphere.
Thanks to Torsten Saalmann, his wife Brigitte, the organizers and the Donell Group Travel company, the event ran smoothly and was full of musical highlights. The talented Ramona Hübner also documented the project and will create a travel film that captures the unforgettable moments.
