Barnim District Adult Education Center starts the year with over 500 new courses!

Summer is coming to an end and the start of a new school year brings a breath of fresh air into the educational landscape in Barnim. The Barnim District Adult Education Center is starting its 2025/2026 program year and is focusing on the guiding theme “#zukunftsort_vhs: Skills for tomorrow”. The aim is not only to provide participants with current educational content, but also to enable them to actively shape the challenges of the future.

The new course offering, which will be available from July 1, 2023, impresses with over 500 different courses. The focus here is on sustainable business, creative deceleration in artistic offerings and practice-oriented language courses for work and leisure. Those interested can, among other things, Improvisational theater workshops take part or register for mushroom coach training with a certificate from the German Society for Mycology. The efficient use of artificial intelligence is also discussed.

A wide range for all age groups

What is particularly pleasing is the variety of offerings for children and young people, which includes over 20 special courses. These range from language courses to creative workshops and events to strengthen communication skills. The course fees were adjusted moderately after ten years and now amount to 3.50 euros for a 45-minute session. Discounts are available to students, pensioners and people entitled to social benefits, so that learning remains affordable for many people.

The course locations are spread across the entire Barnim area, with Eberswalde, Bernau, Biesenthal and many other attractive locations to choose from. Excursions to, among other places, the Biesenthal Basin and Berlin expand the educational offerings in an exciting way. Another plus point are the newly established online offerings, which make learning flexible and location-independent.

A place to meet and learn

The KVHS Barnim sees itself not only as an educational provider, but also as Place of meeting and collaborative learning. The events cover a wide spectrum, ranging from professional to cultural to political further education. In times when many people are looking for new skills, the adult education center offers flexible and low-threshold offerings that are accessible to all age groups.

Particularly noteworthy are the new wilderness knowledge and fire drilling courses, which not only impart knowledge but also promote fun and a sense of community. There will also be parent media evenings from November 2023 to June 2024, which will provide information on topics such as the use of digital media for homework.
