Art enjoyment for everyone: Open studios in Barnim on November 30th!
On Sunday, November 30, 2025, the artists in Barnim will open their doors again for the “Open Ateliers” event. From 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., art lovers can talk to 64 creative people in 40 studios and experience the diversity of art. Admission to the event is free, which is perfect for families and art-loving visitors looking for a relaxing day. The studios are spread across the entire district and offer a varied program of activities - from exchange opportunities to individual studio visits on request to small activities and guided tours.
Visitors can look forward to a wide range of art forms, including painting, graphics, drawing, photography, ceramics, porcelain, stained glass, textile art, blacksmithing and even furniture design. Some artists also offer performances and installations. Anyone who would like to get to know one or another artistic technique has the chance to gain exciting insights here. There is even the opportunity to purchase your own works of art. A complete list of participating studios can be found at www.barnim.de/offene-ateliers.
Art scene in Barnim and beyond
The “Open Ateliers” in the Barnim district are not only a regular event, but also part of a lively art scene that is noticed far beyond the region. In cities like Berlin, Cologne and Munich, countless art projects and galleries have sprouted, representing both established and emerging artists. According to the Initiative group SV The German art landscape is diverse and is shaped by trade fairs, biennials and festivals.
Renowned institutions such as the Museum Ludwig in Cologne and the Museum Island in Berlin contribute to the rich cultural landscape. The art market in Cologne in particular has a long tradition, and the city remains a popular meeting place for art dealers. Our region in Barnim benefits from this dynamic and draws its inspiration from these larger art centers.
The “Open Ateliers” event takes place twice a year, and the upcoming date on the 1st of Advent 2025 promises equally diverse insights into current art production. The Barnim not only gives regional talent a platform, but also invites art lovers to find out about the latest developments in contemporary art and to enter into dialogue with artists.
Take the opportunity to experience the creative spirit on site and discover the cultural diversity of the region. Art enthusiasts will get their money’s worth here – let yourself be inspired!
Additional information about art evenings, markets and other exhibitions is available in the art exhibition brochure and on the website www.barnim.de/offene-ateliers accessible.
