Literature Festival Leseklang: 650 visitors celebrate art and culture in Bernau!

On Sunday, June 29th, a real festival for literature and music lovers took place in the Bernau city library. Around 650 visitors flocked to the cultural center at Breitscheidstraße 43 and experienced a colorful program at the Leseklang-hoffest . From loose readings to creative art actions, there was something for every taste.

The event offered a magical mix of readings, music and art. There were also numerous authors, including Kate Lewandowski, Franziska Szmania and S. H. Raven, who are listening from their works every hour. The combination of literature for adults and children was supplemented by the special actions "Bernau reads a book" and "Bernau reads a children's book", which the audience kidnapped with the titles "25 Last Summer" and "Freddy and Flo creep into the world of stories.

The event was not only aimed at adults. Even the little ones got their money's worth. A comic workshop, led by Christian Bartz, took place at 1 p.m., followed by a word salon under the direction of Nathalie Groß. The event was musically framed by talented students from the Barnim Music School, who provided an additional mood with their performances.

The presentation of regional artists, which were able to show their handmade products - including prints, watercolors, jewelry and postcards - were particularly gratifying. The variety of works of art reflected the creativity of the region and offered visitors the opportunity to support local talents.

The Leseklang-Hoffest was organized in close cooperation with the reading magic Bernau. The initiative, which has been active since April 2014, is carried by committed volunteers who read out in kindergartens, schools and senior citizens. This important work is supported by many local institutions, including the Bookstore Schatzinsel and the Immanuel Clinic Bernau.
