Literaturfest LeseKlang: 650 visitors celebrate art and culture in Bernau!
On Sunday, June 29th, a real festival for literature and music lovers took place in the Bernau city library. Around 650 visitors flocked to the cultural center at Breitscheidstrasse 43 and experienced a colorful program LeseKlang-Hoffest. From casual readings to creative art activities, there was something for every taste.
The event offered a magical mix of readings, music and art. Numerous authors were there, including Kate Lewandowski, Franziska Szmania and S. H. Raven, who read from their works every hour. The combination of literature for adults and children was complemented by the special campaigns “Bernau reads a book” and “Bernau reads a children’s book”, which took the audience into the world of stories with the titles “25 Last Summer” and “Freddy and Flo are scared of nothing”.
A program for all ages
The event was not just aimed at adults. Even the little ones got their money's worth. A comic workshop led by Christian Bartz took place at 1 p.m., followed by a word salon led by Nathalie Groß. The event was accompanied musically by talented students from the Barnim Music School, who created an additional atmosphere with their performances.
Particularly pleasing was the presentation of regional artists who were able to show off their handmade products, including prints, watercolors, jewelry and postcards. The diversity of artworks reflected the creativity of the region and offered visitors the opportunity to support local talent.
The partners and supporters
The LeseKlang-Hoffest was organized in close cooperation with the Lesezauber Bernau. The initiative, which has been active since April 2014, is supported by committed volunteers who read to kindergartens, schools and senior citizens' facilities. This important work is supported by many local institutions, including the Schatzinsel bookstore and the Immanuel Klinikum Bernau.
Curious people who would like to find out more about the offerings of Lesezauber Bernau were able to find out more at the association's stand. We were also actively looking for new reading sponsors who would like to share the joy of reading with others. Those interested can contact us by calling 03338/709713 or sending an email to honoramt@bernaunet.de.
A symbol for promoting reading
According to Thalia, the importance of promoting reading and volunteer work is at the forefront of the event. With initiatives such as the reading start sets, which benefit around 140,000 school starters, the joy of reading is not only conveyed but also actively promoted. This campaign and many others reflect our commitment to literature and reading for all ages.
The LeseKlang Hoffest not only strengthened the community, but also raised awareness of the importance of literature and promoting reading in the region. A special thank you goes to the organizers and everyone involved who created an unforgettable experience that touched the hearts of both readers and art lovers.
