Topping out ceremony in Joachimsthal: New rescue station for faster help!

The topping-out ceremony for the new rescue station took place in Joachimsthal on July 11, 2025. This marks significant progress in the expansion of the emergency service structure in the Barnim district. As the Barnim.de reports, the new building is part of a comprehensive infrastructure program that aims to improve emergency services in the region. This new station replaces the previous interim structure, which was temporarily housed in the town hall, and offers modern emergency response conditions for efficient medical assistance.

At the ceremony, District Administrator Daniel Kurth emphasized the importance of the new building for faster medical help in the northwest of the district. The strategic location of Joachimsthal, with direct access to the Schorfheide-Chorin biosphere reserve and the convenient connection to the B198 and the A11, speaks for the choice of location. Construction began on February 12, 2025 and can be seen as part of an extensive program to strengthen the infrastructure around emergency services, which has already been successfully implemented in other areas such as Schwanebeck, Finowfurt, Biesenthal and Oderberg SK Publishing supplemented.

Important features of the new building

The new rescue station is not only an architectural advance, but also meets the current requirements of the rescue service area plan and DIN 13049. This ensures that the new facility meets the highest standards for the rescue service. Together, self-sufficient operating capabilities are also planned for crisis situations, so that operations are ensured even in the event of power outages.

The entire building is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2026. The new station not only optimizes the response times of the emergency services, but also significantly improves the conditions for the emergency services. This should have a positive effect on operational readiness and thus increase the supply of citizens in Joachimsthal and the surrounding area.

Overall, the new building of the rescue station represents a decisive step towards modern and efficient rescue service logistics, which is of central importance for the safety of the region. The construction will not only make operations in the rescue service easier, but also promote proximity to the population, which is a significant advantage, especially in emergencies. The future guard will thus be a symbol of improved medical care in the Barnim district.
