Brandenburg's best high school graduates: Brilliant honor in the Audimax!

The Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences (THB) was the scene of a special event on June 27, 2025: the annual awards ceremony for the best high school graduates in the city of Brandenburg an der Havel attracted numerous visitors. It was the 21st time that outstanding achievements by high school graduates were recognized. The President of the THB, Prof. Dr. Andreas Wilms, congratulated the young graduates and emphasized the long-standing tradition of this honor, which has existed for 22 years. “In challenging times, high-performing personalities are particularly in demand,” emphasized Wilms and at the same time promoted studying at the THB.

The event was led by Prof. Dr. Michael Syrjakov, Professor of Applied Computer Science. He also spoke about the great career prospects of the graduates as well as the opportunities and challenges that artificial intelligence brings with it. Brandenburg's mayor Steffen Scheller, the event's patron, praised the excellent achievements of the graduates and pointed out the important role of ambition and determination.

A look at the educational landscape in Brandenburg

The educational landscape in Brandenburg has a lot to offer. The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport provides comprehensive information on various school education paths, vocational training and further education as well as educational policy priorities on its website. Thanks to this diversity, high school graduates have numerous opportunities to continue their education and find their own path even after they graduate. The offer ranges from universities and vocational schools to further training opportunities for lifelong learning.

Further information about the exhibition and the high school graduates can be found at Meeting point Brandonburg, City of Brandenburg and Education Server.
