In Brandenburg an der Havel, a very big celebration will be celebrated in Marienbad on Saturday, June 14, 2025: SV 2000 Brandenburg is popping the corks and commemorating its 30th anniversary! From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. the motto of the event is “Children and Family Party” and promises lots of fun for young and old.
The celebration will be accompanied by none other than the Radio TEDDY team, who will provide the musical accompaniment. Big hands-on activities and varied games in the fun pool and in the 25-meter swimming pool are on the program. Dennis Richter, the club's board member, is confident and reveals that the next 30 years will be just as exciting as the past.
A look at the success story
Since its founding, SV 2000 Brandenburg has continued to develop. Over 14,000 children have learned to swim here, and it is clear that there is great enthusiasm for water sports. Experienced swimming instructors, including Stephan Grenzdörffer, are still active and attach great importance to the training of young swimmers. The club offers a wide range of activities, ranging from children's swimming to water polo.
Given the fact that around half of all children and young people in Germany are active in a sports club, the importance of such initiatives is more evident than ever. According to a survey, around 7.6 million children and young people under the age of 19 were registered in sports clubs at the beginning of 2023 - a strong indicator of the positive development of club life throughout Germany. The most popular sports, such as football and gymnastics, show that exercise and community activities are still very popular.
From small beginnings to big celebrations
When SV 2000 was founded in 1995, it had no idea what a large number of children and families would join the club. Every year new offers and events are launched to strengthen the community and also promote swimming skills. The 30th anniversary is a welcome occasion to look back on the successful years as well as to look to the future.
An AED device in the medical room at the fun pool also provides the necessary safety so that the young athletes and their families can feel completely comfortable. Anyone interested will have access to the anniversary celebration at Sprengelstraße 1 in Brandenburg an der Havel, and the anticipation is already palpable - because whether young or old, there will be something for everyone here.
