Attention manga fans: Third Manga Day in Brandenburg on September 27th!

The countdown has begun: On Saturday, September 27, 2025, the time has come! The Fouqué Library in Brandenburg an der Havel opens its doors for the third nationwide Manga Day and offers a colorful program for all manga fans and curious people. From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., visitors can look forward to a varied offering that is primarily dedicated to young readers. Over 1,300 bookstores and libraries in German-speaking countries are taking part in this exciting event.

What exactly can visitors expect? The children's and youth library offers free manga magazines that cover both well-known series and current new releases. The genres range from fantasy to action to romance and mystery. Quiz and search games are also offered, and creative minds can try out their skills in the button workshop. At 11:00 a.m., the Children's Library team will also introduce new manga titles that are worth discovering.

Special invitations and competitions

A very special highlight of Manga Day is the invitation to cosplayers to present their impressive costumes. The event will not only be a feast for the eyes regarding the manga world, but also a celebration of creativity and craftsmanship. Creative talents also have the opportunity to take part in the Hohenstücken district library’s ongoing manga and comic drawing competition. The work can be submitted until September 26th and the drop-off location is at Walther-Ausländer-Straße 1 in the community center.

“Manga Day is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the diversity and cultural aspects of manga and anime,” says the Fouqué Library team. The event was launched in 2022 and has since attracted more and more publishers and labels. This year, altraverse, Carlsen Manga, Crunchyroll and Tokyopop are taking part, to name just a few. A total of 28 free reading samples are available, which include both established series and exciting new developments. The artwork for Manga Day 2025 comes from the talented mangaka Ban Zarbo and artist Natyra, who have long been active in the German manga scene with their work.

A celebration for the whole family

A visit to Manga Day is great fun not only for die-hard fans, but also for families and newcomers to the manga world. The event is in the tradition of past anime and manga conventions, which are becoming increasingly popular in Germany. There are now numerous events such as the AnimagiC in Mannheim or the Manga-Comic-Con in Leipzig, where fans can regularly exchange ideas and collect creative ideas.

For any questions or further information, the Fouqué Library team is available by telephone on (03381) 58 42 13. If you don't want to miss the chance to discover exciting stories and creative talents, you should definitely mark September 27, 2025 in red on your calendar!
