Commuters in Brandenburg: RE7 does not drive - replacement with long waiting times!

From today, commuters between Borkheide and Potsdam-Babelsberg have to adapt their travel plans. Due to track work at Seddin station, the RE7 is removed for seven weeks. The rail replacement measures occur on 4. July in force and last until 22. August 2023 . This has already caused resentment among many travelers, such as Moana, from Brück. Moana is dependent on the train to get to Berlin regularly and now has to get up a whole hour earlier to achieve your goals in time.

The SEV bus only drives once an hour and needs a proud 1 hour and 25 minutes between Borkheide and Potsdam-Griebnitzsee. If you want the bus to the Potsdam main station, you have to plan 1 hour and 41 minutes . For comparison: Usually Moana manages the route in just over an hour. Due to the changes, she plans to commute to the replacement trips by car, which also means a financial expense for you.

dissatisfaction and demands for improvements

Deutsche Bahn pointed out the problems that the bus trips take longer and that there is also a lack of sufficient bus resources. The Berlin-Brandenburg Transport Association (VBB) has already requested improvements. Official director Mathias Ryll criticizes the short -term announcement and the scope of the restrictions. Alternative replacement solutions, such as diversions or express buses, are conceivable to accommodate the commuters.

Another commuter, Frank Seibicke from Borkheide, is also dissatisfied with the situation. He compares the entire travel time with a bike tour, which throws an inevitable discussion about the quality of local public transport and possible potential for improvement for those affected. The ongoing dissatisfaction could have a negative impact on the attractiveness of the rail connections, which is why a rapid solution is urgently needed.

Future view: Improvements in rail traffic

In the background, larger projects are already underway to improve the transport infrastructure in the region. The project i2030 pursues the goal of expanding the S-Bahn network with a comprehensive package of measures. The states of Berlin and Brandenburg secure pre -financing for the necessary planning. The basic investigation has already been completed in almost all corridors, which increases hope for faster implementations.

DB Netze AG takes over the planning and expansion of the infrastructure, with the aim of improving mobility for passengers in the capital region. In the future, this could mean that restrictions such as the current one soon belong to the past and commuters such as Moana can be faster and more stress -free again.

For the commuters concerned, however, it is now said: practice patience and find alternative ways. The rail replacement traffic is a major challenge that urgently needs solutions.
