Steffen Tepper: Independent candidate for a clean Brandenburg!

The political landscape in Brandenburg an der Havel could soon get a breath of fresh air. Steffen Tepper plans to run for mayor as an independent candidate. Tepper emphasizes that his independence from parties and political functions gives him the freedom to make decisions without party political constraints. Over the next few weeks he will present his political ideas and address some key issues that are close to his heart.

A big focus of his agenda is improving cleanliness in the city. In particular, he wants to improve the situation in public toilets. The aim is to ensure that these facilities are easily accessible to all citizens and are in perfect condition. Current information shows that in Berlin, for example, there are 475 public toilets available, operated by companies such as Wall GmbH. These toilets include both automated “Berlin toilets” and staffed toilet centers. Tepper could take a cue from this concept and discuss innovative approaches to improving cleanliness.

Cleanliness and child protection

Another point on Tapper's agenda is the fight against bulky waste in public spaces. He is thinking about working with so-called garbage detectives to keep the city cleaner. In addition, Tepper envisages measures to protect minors, which should include targeted controls and test purchases. This could help curb minors' access to tobacco products, vapes and alcohol.

A future-oriented retail concept for the city center is also part of his vision. Steffen Tepper wants to use modern technologies to develop intelligent traffic solutions and citizen-friendly online services. Digitalization offers many opportunities that can make life easier for residents and benefit pedestrians.

Culture and appreciation

Another point is the further development of the industrial museum, which is intended to function as a lively learning and meeting place. Tepper also aims to increase appreciation for city government employees. He plans to work actively and trustingly with the staff council - beyond the legal minimum requirements. He would like to focus on the concerns of employees in order to retain qualified specialists and recruit new ones.

Improving the clean toilet situation not only impacts the city's reception, but also social and economic development. Access to sanitation is considered a human right and not only promotes hygiene but also contributes to education. According to the German Toilet Organization, proper access to toilets can save the lives of countless children and help ensure they can attend school.
The numbers are alarming: almost half of all deaths of malnourished children under five are due to inadequate sanitary and hygienic conditions.

With a clear focus on these issues, Tepper could send an important signal to the citizens of Brandenberg and thus ensure cleanliness that not only improves the cityscape, but also promotes people's well-being.
