Energie Cottbus is planning the next shooting festival with 8:0 against Wittichenau!

Energie Cottbus is in excellent form, as the team was able to impress in its last test matches. On June 28, 2025, the team celebrated a real scoring spree against SpVgg Finsterwalde and won an incredible 26-0. Jannis Boziaris was the hero of the game, scoring an incredible five goals. Another star scorer, Can Moustfa, contributed three goals in the first half, while Tolcay Cigerci netted four times in the second half. Coach Claus-Dieter Wollitz made a complete change at half-time and the new formation conjured up no fewer than 15 more goals on the scoreboard. With this shooting festival the day before, Cottbus apparently gave themselves a glorious template for the following match against DJK Blau-Weiß Wittichenau.

In the subsequent test match on June 29, 2025, Cottbus was able to continue its successful path and beat Wittichenauer 8-0. In front of around 1,700 spectators who had traveled from the region, the game initially ended 0-0. It wasn't until the 28th minute that Boziaris redeemed the fans with the opening goal. Justin Butler made it 2-0 in the 34th minute before halftime.

The second half: a new beginning and lots of goals

After the break, coach Wollitz replaced his entire team, and it paid off. Can Moustfa opened the second half with a 3-0 lead, followed by Ted Tattermusch, who increased the score to 4-0. Shortly afterwards, Romarjo Hajrulla scored and made it 5-0. In the final phase, the Cottbus team really got going again: Moustfa converted a penalty in the 82nd minute, Hajrulla netted again in the 85th and Erik Tallig rounded off the impressive result with 8-0 in the 87th minute.

These strong performances could give Energie Cottbus the momentum it needs to make a splash in the upcoming third division season. After narrowly missing out on the second division promotion relegation campaign in the previous season, the signs seem to be favorable for a successful second half of the season. The next test match against VSG Altglienicke on July 4th will show whether the club can take this flow with them.
