The football world in Cottbus is upside down! On June 26, 2025, FC Energie Cottbus begins its celebratory 60th anniversary season. To mark the occasion, the players are introducing a new, unique jersey that brilliantly represents not only the history and identity of the club, but also the region. FC Energie Cottbus reports on this celebrated innovation on its website fcenergie.de.
What is particularly noteworthy is that the anniversary jersey was developed in close collaboration with a project group made up of loyal fans. This initiative shows how much passion and dedication goes into this collection. The design is inspired by the club's traditions: two diagonal stripes are reminiscent of the first jersey from 1966 and the club's crest. A real eye-catcher will also be the traditional, pointed emblem, which returns for the 2025/2026 season and will function as the official club emblem for a whole year.
A jersey full of symbolism
For the Cottbus region, the jersey was given a “liquid texture” that is based on the surrounding waters - such as the Cottbus Baltic Sea, the Spree Forest and the Lusatian Lake District. On the right hip there is an image of the Cottbus crab as a homage to the city's history. The “Ten Commandments of FC Energie” are immortalized in the waistband of the jersey, which come from an impressive choreography by the fans and emphasize the connection to the fan community.
In addition, the jersey proudly bears the word “ENERGIE” on the back, with the call “ONLY” hidden above it, reminiscent of the fans’ popular battle cry. The shirt numbers are presented in the classic “Friz Quadrata” font, which has been used in football since 1966. A piece of history that now shines in a new guise!
The new design and its change
Additionally, the new home jersey, produced by manufacturing company Saller, will give fans a familiar feeling. The previous design from the 2015-16 season was classic red and white with a simple V-collar. Red shorts and socks complemented the commitment. An exciting return to the roots - in a season that wants to emphasize the connection to the club even more.
The start of sales of the new jersey has already been set for tomorrow, June 27, 2025. This is the opportunity for all fans to secure a piece of this special season and proudly show the colors of FC Energie Cottbus.
