Ted Tattermusch moves to Energie Cottbus: New offensive ace!
Ted Tattermusch has found a new club: The 24-year-old striker is moving from Carl Zeiss Jena to Energie Cottbus. The move, which was officially announced on Thursday, June 12, 2025, marks a new step in the career of the tall center forward, who at 1.94 meters is known not only for his size, but also for his aerial strength and robust playing style. Last season, Tattermusch was able to make people sit up and take notice in the Regionalliga Nordost: in 29 games he scored 12 goals and provided 4 assists. Energie Cottbus hopes that he will be a real reinforcement for the offensive in the coming third division season.
Claus-Dieter Wollitz, the coach of FC Energie, emphasizes that the team needs a greater presence in the air. “We want more flexibility in attack and definitely more danger of scoring from set pieces,” explains Wollitz. Tattermusch should meet exactly these requirements with his physical presence and his finishing qualities. “With him we will be able to strengthen the offensive in a targeted manner,” adds squad planner Maniyel Nergiz, who describes Tattermusch as an interesting player with almost 100 third division games.
A look at the newcomer's career
Tattermusch was born in Meppen and began his football career in the Teglingen/Meppen/Schwefingen syndicate. At the age of 11 he moved to the youth team at SV Meppen and made his debut in the 3rd league, where he scored 1 goal in 14 games. In 2021 he moved to Borussia Dortmund, where he collected a total of 82 third division games as well as 2 goals and 7 assists in three seasons for the U23s. The experience at Borussia Dortmund should now benefit him as he wants to prove himself in Cottbus.
Energie Cottbus expects an exciting third division season 2025/2026, not least due to the previous commitments that are intended to optimize the team. In addition to Tattermusch, the Lausitzers have also brought Moritz Hannemann and Theo Ogbidi on board to strengthen the squad. They want to do everything they can to play a significant role in the 3rd division, which has a total market value of 162.93 million euros this season. In comparison, Energie Cottbus has a market value of around 6.53 million euros with an average age of 27.3 in the team.
With this realignment and the signing of Tattermusch, FC Energie Cottbus has not only gained a great talent, but could also establish itself as a serious competitor in the 3rd league in the coming season. As coach Wollitz put it: “There’s something to come for the next games!” A committed Tattermusch could be the key to a successful start to the season.
The coming months will show how the striker and his new team can hold their own against the other clubs. Fans can be excited to see what surprises Cottbus will come up with this season.
