Preparations for the popular Cottbus Waltz Night on July 5, 2025 are in full swing. This festive event will transform the city center into a nighttime celebration on Saturday from 4:15 p.m. until Sunday at 9 p.m. During this time, citizens have to prepare for significant restrictions on local public transport.
There is important information for commuters and partygoers, especially for the following lines, such as this Cottbus traffic reported:
Affected lines and diversions
- Linie EV1: Diese Linie entfällt komplett zwischen Schmellwitz Anger und der Stadthalle (Puschkinpromenade).
- Linie EV2: Hier gibt es eine Umleitung. Die Linie verkehrt von „Stadthalle Puschkinpromenade“ über Karl-Marx-Straße zur Zimmerstraße und bedient Ersatzhaltestellen „Goethestraße (Am Spreeufer)“ und „Am Doll“. Stadteinwärts führt die Strecke über Am Spreeufer, Friedrich-Ebert-Straße zurück zur Haltestelle Stadthalle Puschkinpromenade.
- Linie 2: Auch hier wird umgeleitet. Die Linie fährt ab „Stadthalle Post“ nach Schmellwitz Anger mit Schienenersatzverkehr nach Sandow.
- Linie 2N: Diese Linie ist nur am Samstag betroffen. Die Umleitung führt über „Am Spreeufer“, wobei die Haltestellen „Altmarkt“ und „Goethestraße“ nicht bedient werden. Am Sonntagabend kehrt die Linie wieder zum regulären Fahrplan zurück.
- Linie 16: Diese Linie verkehrt im Bereich Stadthalle wie an Wochentagen über Hubertstraße. Die Haltestellen am Altmarkt werden von EV2 und 2N nicht angefahren.

The Altmarkt in Cottbus will be completely closed from 5 p.m. on July 5th, making the traffic situation even more complex.
