On Monday, August 26, 2025, a tragic car accident occurred on federal highway 320 between Lieberose and Lamsfeld in the Dahme-Spreewald district. In this serious accident, an 82-year-old passenger died, while an 84-year-old driver and a six-year-old child had to be taken to hospital with serious injuries. According to rbb24, the vehicle, a Mercedes, left the road at around 2:40 p.m. and crashed into a tree.
The police and emergency services were quickly on site. Federal highway 320 had to be completely closed for around five hours during the rescue and recovery work, which led to significant traffic disruptions. The closure was finally lifted around 7:30 p.m.
Investigations are ongoing
