Agreement in Brandenburg: emergency services remains free of charge for patients!

Brandenburg, Deutschland - in Brandenburg has finally become an agreement between the health insurance companies and eight counties regarding the financing of the emergency services. This decisive agreement was signed today, and this not only gives the affected circles, but also the citizens in the region for hope. Both Siegurd Heinze, chairman of the Brandenburg district council and Rebecca Zeljar, head of the Berlin-Brandenburg State Representation of the VDEK, signed the contract, which is perceived as a positive signal for the patient. Minister of Health Britta Müller announced that this agreement strengthens the safety of the patients in the region. According to Ärzteblatt therefore remains free of charge for the patient.

In the run -up to the agreement, there were numerous tensions. In nine Brandenburg counties, such as Barnim, Märkisch-Oderland and Teltow-Fläming, the health insurance companies had set the reimbursement of all fees for rescue operations. The cash registers argued that the costs for the missions were covered, and they started to reimburse fixed amounts with retrospectively since January 1st. A mission in Teltow-Fläming, for example, costs 1,449 euros, of which the health insurance companies only wanted to take over 794 euros, reported rbb24 . This led to frustrations in the affected counties that pointed out the need for a transparent cost accounting.

a sign of hope

With the new agreement, the collection of fees for false trips in the Märkisch Oderland district is now canceled, which means additional relief for the patients. However, the permanent regulation is still bound to a lawsuit by the district of Teltow-Fläming before the Berlin-Brandenburg Higher Administrative Court. The discussion about how future costs for the emergency services can be structured and made transparent remains important. In the past, many counties complained about a non -transparent cost accounting and non -recognized sample calculations.

A crucial topic remains the distribution of financial resources and how the cost and performance calculation (KLR) should be designed in the future. A working group has already dealt with the development of a new basic scale, while the health insurance companies provide around 300 million euros annually for the emergency services in Brandenburg. It remains to be hoped that these reforms will make the emergency services more efficient and cost bans. Incidentally, the financing is not only through the health insurance companies, but also through contractual agreements between the counties and the health insurers, which have to be negotiated annually, such as DRK explains.

outlook

In summary, the agreement is a step in the right direction in order to motorize the needs of citizens and the financial challenges of the emergency services in Brandenburg. The dialogue is crucial, and it remains to be observed how the situation will develop and whether further measures to optimize emergency service financing must be taken. However, citizens can be pleased that emergency care remains free of charge - a clear advantage in an increasingly complex health landscape.
