A worrying traffic accident occurred today on the country road between Munich and Uebigau. A 26-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle on Tuesday afternoon, left the road in the curve area and rolled over. According to Niederlausitz Aktuell, the driver was injured and immediately taken to hospital.
The cause of the accident is attributed to excessive speed, which at first glance seems to be not uncommon. The material damage caused is estimated at around 80,000 euros. The car was no longer drivable after the accident and had to be towed away, which further complicated the situation on site.
More traffic accidents
But the incident in Uebigau was not the only traffic accident that caused a stir on Tuesday. In Bad Liebenwerda, a MERCEDES van left the road at around the same time. Fortunately, the driver, who said he swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle, was uninjured. The police have launched an investigation into the hit-and-run accident, while the damage to the van amounts to around 5,000 euros.
Another accident also occurred on Federal Highway 101 on Wednesday morning. An OPEL small car crashed into a guardrail and a tree. Here too, the 38-year-old driver remained uninjured, as was found during his examination in hospital. The material damage to the OPEL “Corsa” is estimated at 5,000 euros, and this vehicle also had to be towed away. The total closure of the federal highway led to significant traffic delays until 8:45 a.m.
