Discover the future: AI workshops for the 50+ generation in Brandenburg!
On June 23, 2025, things will be exciting in Brandenburg an der Havel for everyone who is in the second half of life and is interested in new technologies. The Brandenburg Academy for the 2nd Half of Life is launching a new workshop format in August with the resounding name “AI Laboratory: Creative”. These workshops, led by Michael Esser, offer the opportunity to discover artificial intelligence (AI) in a playful way without any prior knowledge and to integrate it into everyday life. City of Brandenburg reports that the workshops will take place on August 12th and 26th, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Jacobstraße 12 and participation is free of charge. However, registration is required due to limited places.
The aim of this initiative is to reduce fear of new technologies and to introduce participants to free AI tools. Applications are presented that can be useful in everyday life, be it for vacation planning, creative hobbies or everyday research. The Academy for Artificial Intelligence emphasizes that their courses are practically oriented and humanized to promote an applicable understanding of the technology.
A targeted approach for seniors
The workshops are part of a larger trend that is also taking place beyond Brandenburg. For example, a seminar on AI and ChatGPT is offered specifically for active seniors. This is aimed at those interested without prior technical knowledge and covers various topics ranging from the introduction to AI to its influence on everyday life to practical exercises in the use of AI applications. Digital message highlights that security and data protection are also important points of discussion.
Participants have the opportunity to solve practical tasks, such as creating a shopping list for an Italian dinner or planning a day trip to Heidelberg. In addition, a glossary of AI terms and definitions is provided, as well as step-by-step instructions for using ChatGPT effectively. This form of further education not only brings new technological horizons, but also the joy of experimenting.
A step into the future
The upcoming AI laboratory in Brandenburg shows that even people of advanced age have a variety of opportunities to engage with innovative technologies. It's a chance to not only learn new skills but also stay socially active. The first interested participants can register and secure their place directly by calling (03381) 410088 or by sending an email to aka-brandenburglebenshaelfte.de.
In a world that is constantly changing, it is important not to lose touch. Whether at work, in hobbies or in everyday life – artificial intelligence offers many starting points for not only accepting these changes, but also actively helping to shape them.
