Youth in Nennhausen demands more meeting points for active leisure activities!
What's going on in Nennhausen? There is currently a lot of conversation in the small village. The young people can be found at the only meeting point, the table tennis table on the Fouqué-Platz. Here you switch off, listen to music and enjoy the time with friends. But her exuberant mood also creates some discussions with the residents. Ben Bollmann, a 15-year-old teenager, does not go unmentioned that the loud celebrations of adults have not been complained about in the past-how is that fair?
Emma Lindemann, the 19-year-old youth officer in the cultural association, speaks openly about the challenging situation: "We are missing the offers. A youth club where we can meet undisturbed would be awesome." The mayor Nadine Schläfenap remembers a former youth club, which, however, was not well received due to impractical opening hours. A dilemma that many village communities know in rural areas. Here a rethink would be asked to meet the needs of young people.
youth for their rights
The demands of the young people are clear: they want more say and an open ear of the adults. "We want to take part in village life more active," emphasizes Emma. Anisha Morawaliyadde, 17 years old, even plans her own youth club in Buschow, which should not only offer space for entertainment, but also for joint learning - such as homework support.
In order to grasp young people's opinions, the youth development plan is continued in the Hovelland district. Any wishes and experiences should be included in the further planning. For this purpose, a participation conference will take place in the Nennhausen office on October 5, 2023. All children and adolescents from 6 to 26 years of age who live in the region are invited. Here you can bring your point of view directly and communicate your ideas. This shows that you want to take the youngsters seriously.
space for creativity and encounter
In order for young people to develop, they need rooms and places of encounter. The offers for the young generation are often limited, especially in the rural area. Clubs, workshops or cultural events that promote creativity are missing. This is also confirmed by an interview with experts on topics of youth participation in rural areas, which indicates the importance of self -fulfillment at the same eye level.
The initiatives in Nennhausen could be a first step in the right direction here, and the citizens are also asked to put their trust in the self -responsibility of youth. "We lack transparency and sometimes trust from the adults," says Anisha. The young people can achieve a lot together.
Overall, it seems clear: the young people from Nennhausen want to be heard. You are ready to take responsibility and actively shape your space in village life. It is due to the adults to put this wish into practice and to break new ground together.
