Raid in Nauen: 400 kilos of drugs seized from the party scene!
There is currently a lot of excitement in Nauen, a town in Havelland. Police and customs have been working for days in a drug laboratory that was uncovered on Wednesday. It involves the seizure of a significant amount of drugs and chemicals that would be used to produce other illegal substances. In the first few days of the operation, a total of 400 kilograms of finished drugs were seized, including 300 kilograms on Friday alone. These drugs, including 3-CMC and 4-CMC (mephedrone), are particularly popular in the party scene.
Investigators have already arrested two suspects, men aged 50 and 41. They are accused of “joint gang-like illicit trafficking in narcotics in large quantities”. According to Rbb24, the investigators are now looking for other people involved and are evaluating data carriers and documents that were seized during the searches in the laboratory. The first indications of the drug laboratory were received in May; Since then, an intensive monitoring and investigation process has been initiated.
Ongoing investigations
The police and customs operations are expected to continue on Tuesday. The situation on site is tense and the laboratory can only be entered with full protective clothing. The investigation is complex because the drugs were apparently destined for the Berlin market, pointing to an even broader drug trafficking infrastructure.
Meanwhile, in the financial world, a completely different topic prevailed. Microsoft recently disclosed a revised deal with OpenAI, which caused Microsoft shares to rise 3%. After the new regulation, Microsoft now owns 27% of the shares in OpenAI, which values the company at around $135 billion. This deal will see Microsoft retain exclusive rights to OpenAI's API on Azure until 2032, although commercial use rights will now be released to other cloud providers.
Cooperation and innovation
The partnership between Microsoft and OpenAI has brought significant benefits to both companies. OpenAI has invested billions in Microsoft's Azure, which has not only fueled their growth but also strengthened their position in the field of artificial intelligence - the duo has clearly set itself apart from competitors such as Amazon and Google. OpenAI also has plans for major expansion with their “Stargate Project,” which involves building large data centers in the US using Oracle cloud services.
It remains to be seen how the results of the investigation in Nauen will develop and what new information the authorities can uncover. At the same time, the technology partnership between Microsoft and OpenAI shows how dynamic and diverse the business area is today. In a world where both drug trafficking and innovative technologies are thriving, investigators and companies are challenged to keep pace with each of their discoveries.
