Holiday boom 2025: Türkiye and Spain are the top sellers in Havelland!

This summer vacation is all about traveling! Turkey is making everyone's eyes light up in Havelland's travel agencies because it is the most popular holiday destination this year. Loud MAZ Online Spain and Greece are also rising sharply in the ranking of summer travel destinations. As the operator of Hiller's Reisewelt in Falkensee, Karin Hiller emphasizes that the Turkish coast is so popular primarily because of its excellent price-performance ratio. But cruises in the Mediterranean or to Norway and holiday destinations within Germany are also well received.

Demand is high and that comes at a price. According to the Federal Statistical Office, prices for package holidays rose by a full 19 percent in the first half of 2024 compared to 2022. Inflation, rising flight prices and an increased CO₂ tax in Germany contribute to this development. Nicole Feldmann from the Life travel center in Nauen confirms that Turkey is still ahead in this price segment.

Booking early means saving

The travel professionals from the region warn: last-minute bookings have become more expensive! Many families therefore consider booking in good time. A family of four can invest between 2,800 and 4,000 euros for two weeks with full board in the south if they plan in advance. Last-minute bookers, on the other hand, have to expect at least 5,500 euros. A real difference that is noticeable when planning your vacation. “I recommend that families book their trips in the fall or in February at the latest,” advises Hiller, giving everyone who wants to travel a valuable tip.

Older travelers in particular are now often drawn to the Polish Baltic Sea, as Jan Berner from the travel café in Premnitz reports. This destination is a real insider tip in the regional travel scene. By the way, families with low incomes can apply for holiday subsidies from the State Office for Social Affairs and Welfare in Brandenburg to make travel planning a little easier.
