Today, Hennigsdorf not only marks the start of the weekend, but also celebrates a very special anniversary: ​​650 years of city history! From June 27th to 29th, 2025, the historic center of the city will be the setting for a festival that offers everything that makes the heart beat faster and brings the city to life. In the style of the Golden Twenties, the guests were warmed up with music, while the focus was on the awarding of the city prize. Mayor Thomas Günther and Beatrix Scheeren presented the prize of 2,500 euros to Mario and Kerstin Helmecke, who have been committed to disabled sports in Hennigsdorf for over 30 years. This award not only recognizes their outstanding performance, but also their social commitment within the city. The Helmeckes' commitment to the disabled sports club Un-behindert Grenzlos Oberhavel is a true enrichment for the local community.

Festival program for young and old

The festival offering extends over a long festival mile to the Old Town Hall and includes a variety of attractions: from a medieval market that delights with wooden carousels, jewelry and tin figures, to culinary delicacies that offer something for every taste - be it pasta between 6 and 10 euros or sweet tarts for 5 euros. If the typical fast food offering has changed, there are no bratwursts or neck steaks on the menu here. Drinks are also affordable, with prices starting at 4.50 euros for beer and 4 euros for wine.

And the little ones don't miss out either: a crank carousel for 4 euros, ax throwing and archery ensure fun and excitement. The highlight of the weekend will be on Sunday, when 650 singers will perform an anniversary song. This happens as part of a city bet that creates excitement and regional solidarity. The celebrations promise to be a celebration of community and cohesion, with a colorful mix of music, dance and lots of activities for the whole family.
