Power outage in Kuckswinkel: maintenance work from 12 p.m.!
In Oberkrämer, more precisely in the Kuckswinkel district, scheduled maintenance work on the power grid is underway today, July 10, 2025. These maintenance procedures lead to possible malfunctions, but these will usually not last longer than a few minutes. Overall, households in Oberkrämer are without electricity for only a few minutes per year on average, which underlines the stability of the German electricity grid. The News.de reports that E.DIS Netz GmbH is responsible for the maintenance work, which begins today at 12:00 p.m. and is expected to be completed at 3:00 p.m.
Residents in the approximately one kilometer area around Dorfstrasse in Schwante can expect possible disruption. The last major disruptions in the power grid have already been resolved, including problems in Lindenallee in Vehlefanz and Gartenstrasse in Oberkrämer, both of which were resolved last week. In addition, the disruptions in Wendemark and Marwitz were also successfully eliminated.
Recommendations on what to do in the event of a power outage
In the event of a power outage, E.DIS Netz GmbH has some valuable tips ready. Stay calm and first check the fuses in the fuse box instead of immediately contacting rescue control centers. Instead, you should inform the energy supplier directly. Recommended preparations include having an alternative heating source such as a gas stove ready, as well as compiling a list of rules of conduct, a power bank for your cell phone, candles, matches, flashlights, warm clothing, blankets and an emergency supply of food and drinking water.
It is also advisable to have an emergency pharmacy and hygiene products ready.
Power grid in the region in transition
The planned work is part of a larger conversion of the power grid from 15,000 volts to 20,000 volts, which was made necessary by the commissioning of a new substation in Germendorf. This is happening in the Vehlefanz and Schwante area, where further power outages are expected in the coming weeks as a result of these measures.
As the Märkischen General reported, power cuts are already being planned in the Neu-Vehlefanz, Wolfslake and Groß-Ziethen areas for calendar weeks 39 and 40:
- Dienstag, 24. September: 8:30 – 11:00 Uhr in Neu-Vehlefanz, Wolfslake und Groß-Ziethen.
- Donnerstag, 26. September: 8:00 – 12:00 Uhr in Schwante.
- Dienstag, 1. Oktober: 7:30 – 10:00 Uhr in Schwante und 10:00 – 12:00 Uhr in Vehlefanz.
Stable operation of the power grid remains of great importance in view of these changes. The Federal Network Agency emphasizes how important system stability is for the robustness of the power grid. This must be guaranteed in order to be able to cope with sudden disruptions - be it due to changes in consumption or major failures. In this sense, work is also being done to further develop the technology.
For the residents of Oberkrämer and the surrounding area, it remains exciting to see how the power grid will develop in the coming months while they have to prepare for the announced maintenance work and possible disruptions.
