Mourning for Hans-Jürgen Kafka: Hennigsdorf's committed local politician died
Unfortunately, we have to share sad news: Hans-Jürgen Kafka, the former CDU city councilor from Hennigsdorf, has died. The man, who also made a name for himself as a dedicated football coach, died on Tuesday, October 7th, at the age of 75 in Hennigsdorf Hospital. His absence will be felt in the community, because Kafka was active in local politics for many years and always advocated for the interests of citizens, such as Maz online reported.
His final years were marked by concern for his wife, but despite health challenges, Kafka remained involved in local politics. He was not only a city councilor, but also a passionate football coach for the A and B juniors at FC Stahl Hennigsdorf and later worked on the board of FC 98 Hennigsdorf. Football was more than just a hobby for him, it was a matter of the heart.
A man with many facets
However, Kafka's involvement did not stop with local politics and football. He was also a member of the Nieder Neuendorf Castle Friends' Circle, which dealt intensively with the history of the manor house. He was very passionate about his community in politics, sport and culture. Mayor Thomas Günther (SPD) expressed his dismay at the loss and praised Kafka's commitment to the community.
As we mourn this remarkable person, the memory of his tireless work in politics and clubs will also remain alive. It is a great loss for Hennigsdorf to lose someone who mastered so many different roles with flying colors. The community will honor his memory.
