The city of Senftenberg has started marketing a new maritime commercial area on the north bank of Lake Sedlitz with a breath of fresh air. The project covers around 22 hectares and offers companies direct access to the water - a veritable goldmine for companies operating in the maritime sector. Mayor Andreas Pfeiffer emphasizes how important the new commercial area is for strengthening water tourism in the Lusatian Lake District and sees it as an excellent opportunity for maritime companies to establish themselves.
With the planned creation of new jobs and the strengthening of the tourism infrastructure, this project has killed several birds with one stone. The available space is not only ideal for businesses such as boat and shipbuilding or shipyards, but also offers attractive prospects for repair and service businesses. Potential that the city of Senftenberg does not want to leave unused.
Details about the commercial area
Applications for the properties are possible until November 7, 2025 - an opportunity that smart entrepreneurs should not miss. The minimum bid starts at an attractive 12 euros per square meter plus additional costs. The award is then made by the city council in Senftenberg.
A look into the future
The commercial area will become even more important in the future due to the planned release of the lake network on July 31, 2026. The lake network includes the lakes Senftenberg, Geierswalde, Partwitz, Sedlitz and Großräschen and offers a total water area of around 5,300 hectares. This opens up completely new opportunities for water tourism in the region.
