Future visions for Lauchhammer: exhibition on the city transformation!
Lauchhammer, Deutschland - What is in Lauchhammer? The city develops rapidly and always surprises with innovative ideas! This year, architecture students from the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg are actively contributing to the future urban design. As part of the “Transformation 2035” design module, they work on urban planning visions in the winter semester 2024/25 that take current challenges such as climate and structural change. The students took a close look at the city, analyzed reference objects and developed their own concepts. The result was presented at the end of February 2025 at an exciting presentation, which even attracted the attention of Mayor Mirko Buhr and the head of the business area for education, social affairs and citizen service, Manuela von Schroedel-Siemau. href = "https://www.wochenkurier.info/landkreis-oberspreewald-lausitz/artikel/zukunfts-fuer-lauchhammer-im-Fokus" Class = "Source_1"> Wochenkurier reports .

Mayor Buhr sees this project a real chance of urban development and strengthening tourism. In order to promote these plans, a special meeting of the city council on October 11 will be placed on voting for investment and grant financing.
The importance of such measures is also due to the current trends in urban development that can be observed in many European cities. Such strategies and trends were summarized in a comprehensive study. worked out .
