New leads in the Rebecca Reusch case: Investigators are asking for information!

The investigation into the case of the missing Rebecca Reusch is picking up speed again. Two weeks ago, on October 20th, the police searched a property in Brandenburg that belongs to the grandparents of Rebecca's brother-in-law. A large paper bag was seized. However, police said no direct evidence of the missing person was found. Initially these are only traces that could enable further conclusions to be drawn. Nevertheless, there is reason to hope that the investigators will be able to present concrete results in December that could help clarify the case, as Focus reports.

Rebecca has been missing since February 18, 2019. That day, the 15-year-old spent the night at her sister's house and wanted to go to school the next morning, but never arrived. The brother-in-law, Florian R., who is now 33 years old, is considered the main suspect. Investigators suspect that he killed Rebecca, but so far there is not enough evidence to arrest him again. The family supports Florian R. and he protests that he is innocent. It remains unclear exactly what happened during the night in question, but police have intensified their investigation and launched a new appeal for witnesses for information about a red Twingo that was spotted near Tauche on the day of Rebecca's disappearance. Tag24 has summarized the latest development.

Intensive search and new clues

In order to find possible clues, a nearby area in Herzberg, a district of the municipality of Rietz-Neuendorf, was searched on October 21st. An excavator, a drone and ground radar were used in this search. Despite the great effort, the authorities had to stop the search the next day without gaining any new information. It is also important to mention that Rebecca's brother-in-law's grandparents, who have lived in Herzberg since 2005, are not legally considered suspects, but merely witnesses. Even though the investigation is ongoing, there is hope that the traces secured can soon be analyzed. These evaluations are likely to take a few weeks, which will test the patience of the relatives.

In addition, the question remains as to how Florian R. is involved in the matter, and there is speculation as to whether further searches might be necessary. The police have made it clear that every tip is valuable and solving the case is a top priority to finally give Rebecca and her family the answers they have been looking for for years.
