Electromobility for Zempow: Car sharing on new ways!

Electromobility is also enjoying growing popularity in the rural regions of Germany, and that is exactly the goal of the "Carsharing Zempow" interest group. Loud maz-online.de the initiative would like to make everyday life of Zempower easier and at the same time give impulses for other small villages. Zempow is about 25 km from Wittstock and is therefore one of the most distant districts.

Another step in this direction is the "Fleckomobil", an electrically operated vehicle that has been available in spots Zechlin for a year. So far, around 40 users have rented the vehicle, which has covered a total of 10,000 km. Ernst-Peter Jeremias, the project manager, reports that the running costs of the "Fleckomobil" are covered, but the maintenance and repair costs are a challenge. The low demand for e-car sharing in rural areas is particularly alarming, which makes it difficult to use economic operation, as well as Matthias-Gastel.de that often points out that in smaller places there is often doubt about the functionality of car sharing electrical vehicles exist.

proposals for use and expansion

The previous users of the "Fleckomobil" emphasized that they prefer the spontaneous use of their own car. Nevertheless, there are suggestions for the use of the e-mobile, for example for trips to bus stations or as a chauffeur service for people who cannot drive themselves. In some villages there are already offers for tailor -made trips that are well received.

Ulrike Laubenthal from "Carsharing Zempow" also thinks of a shuttle service to Slecken Zechlin to beat a bridge between the users and the "Fleckomobil". This could help increase the use and reduce the shyness of car sharing.

financing and infrastructure

An additional electric car that could cost less than 20,000 euros is planned in Zempow to enable short trips. With a range of around 350 km, the "Fleckomobil" even offers up to 500 km an attractive opportunity for different trips in summer. The financing for this project could partly be made by the district of Ostprignitz-Ruppin, which offers a certain security for the future.

The experience with the village mobile in Barsikow shows that individual e-mobility is quite possible: 52 users have registered there, which proves that there are greater demand in regions without shopping. Mobility manager Elisabeth Jänsch emphasizes how important it is that such e-mobility offers are financially self-supporting because long-term subsidies remain unsafe.

In the discussion about car sharing in rural areas, it also becomes clear how many private vehicles can be replaced by a jointly used car. About 7 to 12 cars could be made so unnecessary, which also addresses Matthias Gastel . The cars are unused on average 23 hours a day, which claims enormous space and binds resources.

Overall, the development of electromobility in Ostprignitz-Ruppin is an exciting project that could certainly not only enrich Zempow but the entire region.
