Successful start to training: HTW Wittstock inspires young talent!

Julia Grätz from Putlitz has taken the first step into her professional future: In October she began her training as an industrial clerk at the Hoch- und Tiefbau Wittstock (HTW) company. Despite a previous attempt at another company that was canceled due to dissatisfaction, she chose HTW and now plans to successfully complete the three-year training. But it's not just Julia who has found a new challenge: Helena Sturtz from Kyritz also started her training as an industrial clerk at HTW in August, after she had previously broken off teacher training and was able to convince herself by trying out HTW.

There is a long tradition behind the Hoch- und Tiefbau Wittstock company. Founded in 1959 as a district construction company, the company appeared under the name HTW in 1991 and currently employs 96 people, including 13 trainees. Managing director Christina Schwarzer is pleased about the positive start to training and emphasizes the advantages of training in the skilled trades. With an annual turnover of around 18 million euros, HTW is an important player in the civil engineering sector, with a special focus on industry and commerce. “We see a shortage of skilled workers between the ages of 30 and 40,” says Schwarzer. The company is therefore urgently looking for new talent.

The demand for internships at HTW has increased significantly and the company is forced to select applications specifically. The employment agency, represented by Beate Kostka, recommends that companies make their training occupations more accessible and make them tangible in the digital world. Experience has shown that practical insights during training tasters are an excellent way to convince young people of the training offers.
