Neuruppin kicks the pedals strong for the second time when cycling!

In Neuruppin, a lot has moved in the past few days. On June 26, Gabi Theel handed over the Presidential Office of the Lions Club Effi Briest to Constanze. The club, which has existed for 24 years, is committed to social projects. Last year, for example, a proud 14,400 euros were donated to the renovation of the city park, which shows how important such initiatives are for the community. In the sense of this social engagement, the members will also be active in the coming time.

Not only in club life something is happening in the region. A very special event took place on June 27th when Johanna and Horst Wagenfeld were honored for their commitment in the tourist and cultural development of network band. They received a monument in the form of a stele designed by the artist Markus Thelen. Such honors are important to honor the commitment of fellow citizens.

climate protection on two wheels

From June 3 to 23, this year's “City Cycling” campaign took place in Neuruppin, which was successfully carried out for the first time. A total of 227 people from 32 teams took part and together covered over 200,000 kilometers by bike, which more than doubled compared to the previous year. The head of the building department Jan Juraschek described the participation as great success and did not state that this competition will continue to promote cycling and climate protection in the coming year. Mayor Nico Ruhle was particularly pleased with the winning of a bicycle bet that required 10,000 kilometers and will now lead to a new bike service station in the city.

The best teams were after scratched kilometers:

Platz Team cycled kilometers
1. X-Team 7,511 km
2. The Rolling Hillbilly’s 5,487 km
3. City administration Neuruppin 4,930 km

Neuruppin and the climate alliance continue to set accents in the promotion of bicycle traffic, which benefits not only to air quality, but also the quality of life of the citizens. The city administration has already specified all the plans for participation in city bikes in 2025 and is in the starting blocks to want to defend the title.

extensions in the cultural area

The artistic contributions to culture also shape the region. In Lindow, a permanent exhibition on the resistance fighter Friedrich Justus Perels will open on July 1, which takes up an important part of the story. The lawyer and resistance fighter fought against National Socialism and is now honored posthumously. The lecture on the Lebensbornheim Klosterheide, which is planned for July 4, also promises exciting insights into the history of the region.

Further events, such as the anniversary celebration of the volleyball club in Kyritz, which takes place on July 5, ensure a lively coexistence and strengthen the community. Here the citizens have the opportunity to get involved and to actively shape their free time.

This variety of events and initiatives shows that the commitment of the citizens in Neuruppin and the surrounding area is very popular. Whether cycling for the climate or when maintaining cultural identity - the cohesion is strong and continues to be promoted.
