Viasko: Triplets from Stahnsdorf rock at the national competition Local Heroes!
Viasko – On the way to fame
The music scene is bubbling in Stahnsdorf, and four young talents are bringing a breath of fresh air: The band Viasko, consisting of the 16-year-old triplet sisters Valery, Vicky and Vanity as well as the two boys Leon (drums) and Niklas (keyboard), is about to reach a big milestone in their career. This Saturday, November 15th, the title of “Best Newcomer Act in Germany 2025” will be awarded as part of the national final of the “Local Heroes” competition. [Local Heroes] reports that this challenge is considered a defining moment for the band.
The sisters, who are distinguished by their close connection and musical style, have worked intensively on their careers in recent years. After dropping out of school in the 10th grade, they focused all their resources on music. “We don’t have a plan B,” emphasizes Vanity, who thinks it’s great that her band has even performed at SO36 and the Sound City Festival. “It’s just our life!”
From the school band to the national stage
Viasko, which once started out as the school band Vicco-Tones, now relies on an energetic mix of rock, alternative, pop-punk and pop. Their name is inspired by the doctors' song "Fiasko" - a fitting title for a band that doesn't settle for the ordinary. [MAZ] emphasizes that the sisters are very proud of their musical career and want to record their debut album this year, which is expected to be released in 2026. They received government funding to make professional studio recordings.
With their first single “The Day I Met You” they have already won the New Rock Award at Radio StarFM and secured a place in the top 3 of the RockTop30 listener charts. Their music speaks for itself: emotional and powerful, full of youthful energy.
Diversity and challenges in the rock scene
But the path to fame is not without challenges. Viasko always has to fight against the prejudices they encounter because of their young age. Their participation in the “Local Heroes” competition should also show that they are more than just a “school band”. [Local Heroes] explains that the band is looking forward to bringing more diversity to the rock scene and would like to be more open to newcomers.
The jury of the national final, consisting of music journalists and vocal coaches, has already recognized her potential in the past and given valuable tips. The band works hard on their stage presence and performance to get the most out of their performances. “We just want to show that we can do it!”
Music industry in transition
The music industry is in a constant state of change: after years of declining sales of recorded music, the market is experiencing a revival through new digital offerings. [Statista] shows that audio streaming services in particular are gaining popularity and music plays a central role in all age groups. Rock and pop are still in demand, but there are differences in musical taste.
Aiming to conquer the hearts of rock fans, Viasko not only fulfills a personal dream, but could also help enrich the music scene in Cologne and beyond. It will be interesting to see what next successes the band will achieve!
