Inclusive wins: Major sporting event with Katarina Witt in Potsdam!

A very special event awaits all sports enthusiasts in Potsdam this weekend: On Sunday, June 29, 2025, the third edition of the multi-sport event “Inclusive Wins” will take place in the renowned airship port. Under the patronage of two-time Olympic figure skating champion Katarina Witt, athletes from the Olympics, Paralympics and Special Olympics will amaze the spectators. A highlight that celebrates inclusion and top sporting achievements is reported by [rbb24](https://www.rbb24.de/sport/teil/2025/06/inklusiv-gewinnt-multisportevent-potsdam-luftschiffhafen-fragen- Answeren.html) and ARD Media library.

Overall, the athletes compete in four disciplines: athletics, canoe racing, sitting volleyball and swimming. The process is tightly organized: While the canoe competitions take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on the Havel regatta course, the swimming competitions follow at 11:00 a.m. in the swimming pool. From 1:00 p.m., spectators in the stadium can look forward to the athletics, and the finale will be the sitting volleyball games from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. And best of all: entry to all events is free!

An event for the whole family

The event not only offers sporting highlights, but also a great supporting program that has a lot to offer for young and old. In addition to the competitions, there is a family festival with clubs, associations and initiatives, action stands where the audience can actively participate, and a stage for award ceremonies as well as exciting talks, including with Katarina Witt. Live musical performances and a charity auction also round off the day. The whole thing is moderated by Andreas Ulrich, a well-known rbb presenter.

The list of participants is also impressive: Among the athletes are Max Lemke and Jacob Schopf, both Olympic canoe champions, Kristin Pudenz, the Olympic discus silver medalist, Taliso Engel, a Paralympic swimmer with gold in the 100 meter breaststroke, and Olympic triathlon champion Laura Lindemann.

Inclusion in sport

The event represents the increasingly important topic of inclusion in sport. While the Olympic Games take place every four years and do not include athletes with disabilities, the Paralympic Games provide a platform for these athletes. But there is often a balancing act between exclusion and inclusion: an idea that comes up again and again in the discussion about sports reporting. Critics emphasize that the perception of disabled sports often suffers from clichés and prejudices and raises the question of why these sports cannot be integrated into the Olympic Games, as Project Leben Aktiv emphasizes.

The “Inclusive Wins” event addresses this issue directly by attempting to promote the visibility of athletes with disabilities while raising awareness of the challenges of inclusion in sport. A successful mix of sport, fun and awareness-raising awaits all visitors. Remember, you can travel by public transport, bus lines 580, 631, 697 and tram line 91, as well as by car, but there are only limited parking spaces available.

For everyone who cannot be there, there is the opportunity to follow the event live on television and in the stream via rbb from 6:05 p.m. A real event that shouldn't be missed - whether celebrating, cheering or simply witnessing! Be there and support the athletes on an unforgettable day!
