Live podcast via Camille Pissarro: Tickets in 90 minutes away!
in the heart of Potsdam, the Museum Barberini has turned into a hotspot for art lovers and podcast enthusiasts in the past few days. On June 25, 2025, all eyes were focused on the live recording of the "Eye" podcast, which was made by Giovanni di Lorenzo, the editor-in-chief of the Zeit , and Florian Illies, author and co -editor. Within only 90 minutes the 200 tickets for this special event were sold - a real sign that art and culture are very popular.
The current podcast edition deals with impressionist Camille Pissarro, who not only is one of the founders of the impressionist movement, but also has a fascinating life story. The recording took place at the retrospective, which can be seen in the Museum Barberini from June 14 to September 28, 2025 and shows over 100 works from 50 international collections, including loans from van gogh museum and the Musée d’Orsay .
art and history in dialogue
Illies and Di Lorenzo went to the dialogue about Pissarros Art, which was characterized by “silence, cozy landscapes and a sea of green tones”. In the introduction, Illies made it clear that, despite his historical meaning, Pissarro has a real depth in his works, even if Monet is considered a "more important painter". Both speakers showed themselves extremely well informed about Pissarro's biography, which draws an astonishing picture of the artist, who, among other things, experienced the destruction of around 1,400 of his works during the Franco-German War.
Pissarros artistic roots were in the Caribbean, where his view of nature was shaped. After moving to France, he developed his visual language and dealt more intensively with social issues. His works, which are often simple people and their living conditions, are complex and open up an insight into the social conditions of his time.
an exhibition that enthusiastically
The exhibition "With an open look", which is currently running in the Barberini Museum, helps to re -evaluate the heritage of Pissarros. A special eye -catcher is the image "The Schäferin" from 1881, which summarizes the enchanting variety of his work. In addition to painting, he also deals with print graphics and ceramics, which shows that in his art he was constantly looking for new ways and forms of expression.
The live podcast recording not only offered exciting insights into the works of Pissarros, which are characterized by landscape issues and rural life, but also the opportunity to hear the thoughts of the two moderators about art and their social importance. Before the event, the guests had the opportunity to visit the exhibition and immerse themselves in the world.
From July 2, all interested parties can listen to the highlights of the discussion in the podcast. The demand seems unbroken, and the number of registrations speaks for itself: art connects, inspires and stimulates thinking.
