SC Potsdam celebrates its first win of the season: Edda Schulz shines as MVP!

On October 25, 2025 the time had finally come: SC Potsdam celebrated its first win of the season in the 2nd Volleyball Bundesliga North. In an exciting match against VC Osnabrück, the Potsdam team won 3-1 and thus took a big step towards better performance. The game took place in the sports hall at Schlosswall in front of 210 enthusiastic spectators. Edda Schulz was voted Most Valuable Player of the game and provided some highlights.

The excitement of the game was hard to beat. It started with a serving error by Lara Zobelt, which was quickly corrected by Rike Machner and Henriette Kranz to make it 2:1 and later 8:3 for Potsdam. But VC Osnabrück was not impressed and brought the mood back into the game with an equalizer to 12:12. Until the first set ball for Osnabrück it seemed to remain a tough battle. But Potsdam won the first set 28:26, with Kranz scoring the decisive point.

A game full of twists

Osnabrück started strongly in the second set and initially led 17:11. But SC Potsdam was not discouraged. With the help of an excellent series of serves from Edda Schulz, the score was 17:17. Despite the fighting spirit, Potsdam had to lose this set 22:25. But the Potsdam women showed fighting spirit and increased their performance in the third set, which they won 25:18.

The fourth set was a clear affair for the hosts. Potsdam dominated from the start and secured a deserved victory with 25:11. The coach and team couldn't have been happier with the unified team performance and the positive approaches that became visible in the game. The next step will be two home games next weekend at the MBS Arena, where fans can cheer on their team again.

More games in the league

But it's not just the people of Potsdam who are challenged. The ESA Grimma Volleys also received TV Dingolfing in the Grimmaer Muldentalhölle on the same day. In addition, the match between Sparkasse Wildcats Stralsund and Eintracht Spontent Düsseldorf will take place on October 24, 2025 at 4:45 p.m. For VC Osnabrück it also means asserting themselves against SC Potsdam II on the same day, while proWIN Volleys TV Holz meet SV Lohhof.

It remains exciting in the 2nd women's Bundesliga, where the teams are fighting for every point. Fan interest and support are high, and especially at SC Potsdam the mood will visibly improve after this first success.
