Sanssouci Palace: A look into the beautiful royal gardens

Park district manager Sven Hannemann is not only responsible for keeping bees in the park, but is also responsible for garden monument preservation, which includes, among other things, the restoration of the cherry orchard. The maintenance of this historic site is a demanding task: the problems caused by the neglect and conversion of buildings between 1939 and 1989 are still noticeable, such as UNESCO reported.

The strategy of the federal states of Brandenburg and Berlin as well as the city of Potsdam and the foundation aims to restore the ensemble of palace and park taking into account comprehensive historical research. The aim is to highlight the historical structure and design of the landscape while responsibly implementing new environmental and urban developments.
