Power outage in Adlershof: S-Bahn and tram affected! Buses set up to replace them!

Today, Tuesday, September 10, 2025, many Berlin S-Bahn drivers are faced with massive restrictions. A power outage in southeast Berlin is causing significant inconvenience that will last until 6 a.m. Thursday morning. The affected lines include the S8, S9, S45, S46 and S47, which is likely to be an unpleasant surprise for some commuters. [RBB24].

The Bahakonnexxion is not the only one struggling. The BVG trams and a bus are also affected by the failure. The S1 in particular has to expect delays and cancellations due to a signal repair in Hohen Neuendorf. Travelers on this line should therefore be prepared that changing trains may become necessary along the way.

Replacement services and stops

A replacement bus service will be set up for the affected S-Bahn lines. Passengers are encouraged to use BVG public transport, especially in the Adlershof area, where there are no stops at all. In addition, the alternative transport stops are offered as follows:

  • S Schöneweide: Michael-Brückner-Straße (wie Bus 165, N60)
  • S Johannisthal: Groß-Berliner-Damm (in Höhe Tram-Haltestelle “Benno-König-Str.”)
  • S Adlershof: Adlergestell in Höhe Dörpfeldstraße (keine Haltestelle)
  • S Grünau: Adlergestell (wie Bus N68)
  • S Grünbergallee: Grünbergallee (Haltestelle “Rebenweg”, wie Bus 160)

These temporary solutions are intended to make things a little easier for passengers, even if the circumstances themselves are of course anything but pleasant. S-Bahn Berlin apologizes for the inconvenience and asks customers for their understanding.

Sabotage and its consequences

One point that causes additional irritation is the information that the disruption to the energy supply in Adlershof was caused by sabotage of the energy systems. Major disruptions like this understandably raise questions about how something like this can happen. The disruptions apply from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and also affect other lines. For example, the stop in Adlershof is not served, which you will notice when you are traveling there.

In a further dramatic turn of events, an emergency doctor was deployed on the S25 route between Tegel and Heiligensee in the evening, which also interrupted train traffic between these stops for an indefinite period of time. Rail Disturbance reports on the various incidents, which do not exactly ease the already tense situation on the tracks.

With an uncertain end and the hope that the disruptions will be resolved quickly, Berlin is looking forward to a challenging day in its final stages.
