The historic trams are back on the tracks, and everyone in Potsdam can look forward to a special event. On Saturday, July 12th between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., the Association “Historic Tram Potsdam” for a ride in the lovingly restored tram number 9. This Lindner motor car from 1907 is now ready to take passengers on a journey through Potsdam through time.
The special route runs between the Unity Square and Charlottenhof Palace, and there are several entry points: Wilhelmgalerie, Luisenplatz and at the Charlottenhof stop. This makes it easy for everyone not to miss out on this nostalgic treat.
A look into the past
What makes this historic tram so special? The various details in the interior are a real eye-catcher. There, passengers can expect not only exquisite ceiling paintings, but also carved lion heads and English Linkrusta wallpaper. The ivory-colored structure of the tram is decorated with decorative lines and ornaments; the hand-painted Potsdam city coat of arms almost looks like a homage to the city's history.
