IHK honors Neuruppin and Wittenberg companies for training excellence!

In Neuruppin and Wittenberge the signs point to recognition: On Tuesday, September 23rd, two companies will be honored by the IHK Potsdam for their outstanding commitment to training. The IHK honors the Raiffeisenbank OPR from Neuruppin and the environmental technology education provider Eggers from Wittenberge. This award not only honors the creation of attractive training positions, but is also awarded by a jury of experienced training experts.

The selection of the award winners is not random; It is based on the extraordinary commitment of the companies, which does not diminish even in economically challenging times. It should be mentioned at this point that up to six training companies can be honored per year and the award includes prize money of 500 euros, a trophy and a certificate. IHK President Ina Hänsel emphasizes how important such commitment is for the future of young people.

A look at the training landscape

But what makes the training positions in the region so attractive? The Training Atlas The IHK offers an excellent overview of apprenticeships and presents the variety of possibilities. Training careers in the hotel and catering sector are particularly in demand in Potsdam, the most populous city in Brandenburg. With over 10,000 employees in scientific institutions, including renowned institutions such as the Max Planck Institute, there are numerous opportunities for young people to receive qualified training.

Tourism is another important pillar for training positions: over a million tourists flock to Potsdam every year, which primarily benefits the hotel and catering industry. Apprenticeships such as hotel management, restaurant management and dual study programs in hotel management are in high demand. The city is not only known for its historical sights such as Sanssouci Palace and Babelsberg Park, but also offers numerous leisure activities from cycling to climbing to boat trips on the Havel.

A strong commitment to the future

With its award, the IHK Potsdam shows that the commitment to good training places is valued. After the award on September 23rd, interested companies can apply for the title again annually until the end of April. In this way, the focus is always on ensuring quality in training and helps to promote future skilled workers. Especially at a time when companies and young trainees are equally challenged, the question arises: What contribution can we all make to further improve the training landscape?
