The CityLabor in Perleberg will be operated by the Prignitz Technology and Commercial Center from September 2025 and will remain the central contact point for local initiatives.

New life for Perleberg's StadtLabor: TGZ takes over the direction!
Something is happening in Perleberg! The Technology and Commercial Center (TGZ) Prignitz took over responsibility for the StadtLabor at Bäckerstrasse 37 on September 1, 2025. This decision ensures the continuation of an important contact point for the city's citizens, which was previously funded by the federal program "Sustainable Inner Cities and Centers (ZIZ)". When this funding expired, the city was faced with the challenge of maintaining the “City Office”.
The takeover by the TGZ brings a breath of fresh air into the StadtLabor. In the future, the TGZ will be on site and gradually expand the offering. Economic development is now present every Wednesday from 1 p.m. to provide the region's businesses and self-employed people with advice and support. The vacancy manager Jens Knauer is also a regular guest at the StadtLabor: on Thursdays he is available there all day for discussions.
Diverse use of the city laboratory
The StadtLabor serves as a central contact point for a variety of organizations, clubs and associations. Among other things, the craftsmen's get-together is held here, and the “on-site care” team meets every Wednesday morning. Seniors don't miss out either: the seniors' advisory board offers consultation hours in the StadtLabor. The “Plan P” association is active for the city’s youngest children and carries out children’s and youth projects.
David Dreker is the contact person for anyone interested in the StadtLabor and is available to spread the word about the offer. The TGZ is also holding discussions with other interested parties in order to make the best possible use of the space.
Opening hours and future plans
The current office hours in the StadtLabor are every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. until the end of the year. From January 1, 2026, the office will also be open on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This means more opportunities for citizens to take advantage of the offerings in the StadtLabor. If you would like to find out more about the StadtLabor, you can find out more on the City of Perleberg website.
With the takeover by the TGZ and the sustainable use of the StadtLabor, it is clear that Perleberg has demonstrated a good knack for strengthening the local community. This is an important building block for vibrant urban development!
