Prignitz, Deutschland - A burst tire caused serious incidents on Autobahn 24 (A24) between Berlin and Hamburg last Monday. A 65-year-old motorhome traveler from Baden-Württemberg experienced a shocking moment shortly before the Meyenburg departure: his vehicle skidded and tipped over to the right side after a tire explosion was surprised in the right lane. This immediately blocked both lanes and led to an enormous traffic disability that extended over more than 15 kilometers.

The accident occurred around 0.30 a.m. when another incident, also on the A24, led to an unpleasant chain reaction. A 41-year-old driver, who was heavily alcoholic and was neither owned by a valid driver's license, left a burst tire untouched and continued his journey to the next rest area. He not only came into difficulty with the police, but also caused damage to a total of six other vehicles by tire parts that were on the road. Two vehicles even had to be towed. For all of this damage, the property damage adds up to around 14,000 euros, while the accident recording and investigations into drunkenness in road traffic and escape of accidents followed - an incident that influenced road traffic.
