VFC Anklam conjures up a comeback: 3 goals in the final phase secure victory!

The B juniors of VFC Anklam played a thrilling game on the 6th matchday of the state league season against TSG Neustrelitz. Despite being 1:3 behind at halftime, the Anklam boys showed great fighting spirit and turned the game around in the second half to a 4:3 home win. Coaches Jan Winter and Maik Hoffmann were full of praise for their team's performance, which improved significantly in the second half and proved that you should never give up in football. Don't just let the fans' excitement slip away - this was definitely a game that got people excited!

However, the game started anything but promising for the VFC. Benjamin Kracht managed to equalize the score at 1-1 in the 18th minute after a precise assist from Malte Krüger, but the joy only lasted for a short time. Before the half-time break, Anklam conceded two more goals, so that the half-time score of 1:3 was a downside to the fans' faces.

Turning point after half time

But after halftime the team came out of the locker room transformed. A clever change gives trainers crucial access. John Brasch scored the goal to make it 2-3 in the 48th minute. With this goal the momentum came back into the Anklamer game. Just three minutes before the final whistle, it was Vladimir Levtschenko who equalized. The stadium went wild when Linus Gebauer scored the winning goal to make it 4-3 just 60 seconds later.

In the last two games, Anklam's team has now overcome a two-goal deficit, which has increased the team's self-confidence enormously. “The morale of the team is admirable,” said coach Winter after the game.

The CI juniors and the derby defeat

While the B juniors were celebrating, the CI juniors of VFC Anklam suffered a bitter defeat in the derby against FC Rot-Weiß Wolgast. With a final score of 1:2, they were denied the points. Elias Birth managed to score the next goal shortly before the end, but it wasn't enough to make up for the deficit.

For football fans in Anklam, one thing remains clear: While the B juniors draw attention to themselves with an emotional comeback, the CI juniors have to keep their heads down and learn from their mistakes. The next games will show whether VFC Anklam can use the positive momentum from the B junior game for all teams. Anklam is and remains a hot spot for youth football!
