Wittenberge: Best training company donates 1,000 euros for the hospice!
Big things are happening in the heart of Wittenberge: The company SGP Schwan Gerüstbau not only recently won the Brandenburg Training Award 2025 as the best training company in the Brandenburg trade, but also decided to give something meaningful back. On Wednesday, managing director Frank Borchard presented a donation of 1,000 euros to the “Weiße Berge” Elbe hospice SVZ reported.
This generous gesture is no coincidence. The prize money, which was originally intended for the company's employees, was unanimously decided by them for the hospice. Stephan Michelis, the managing director of the Elbhospice, was visibly pleased with the support. He explained that health insurance companies only cover 95 percent of operating costs and the remaining 5 percent must be raised through donations. The hospice needs between 70,000 and 80,000 euros in additional funds every year to stay running. The donation will be used specifically to renovate the hospice's outdoor facilities.
Training and social responsibility
SGP Schwan Gerüstbau has established itself strongly in the north Wittenberg industrial area over the last two years. Frank Borchard emphasized that the award as the best training company was due to good personnel management and a sophisticated training approach. The company trains, among other things, scaffolders and office clerks and is particularly committed to vocational training, which is reflected in projects for trainees as well as in further training and coaching for employees.
The positive working atmosphere was also highlighted by Marvin Voss, a new trainee in the commercial area. He was enthusiastic about the team and immediately felt at home in the company. This is certainly another reason why SGP Schwan Gerüstbau has such a high status in the region.
A place for relatives
The Elbhospice not only offers space for ten inpatients, but also has a day care facility that enables outpatient care, as well as a guest room for relatives. The need for such facilities is high, and the projects supported by donations make a significant contribution to improving the quality of life of residents and their families.
In times when social institutions often rely on donations, SGP Schwan Gerüstbau's initiative shows that companies can play an important role in the community. Your decision not to keep the prize money for yourself, but to actively give something back, is a clear sign of social responsibility and commitment.
