Sports badge tour in Brandenburg: inclusion and fun for everyone!
A warm invitation to all sports enthusiasts: Today the big sports badge day is taking place on the regatta course in Brandenburg an der Havel! The event is open from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and is aimed at everyone - whether with or without a handicap, families, clubs and individuals are welcome. There is a lot of enthusiasm and joy in the fight for the coveted award, the German Sports Badge, which has made a name for itself as the highest award outside of competitive sports. Mayor Steffen Scheller will ceremoniously open the event, while the Stadtsportbund Brandenburg an der Havel e.V., the Landessportbund Brandenburg and Lebenshilfe Brandenburg-Potsdam will ensure that everything runs smoothly as organizers. City of Brandenburg reports that the event also includes numerous exciting disciplines and a varied supporting program.
What is particularly outstanding are the many options that everyone can try out - be it on the mini golf course, on the climbing wall or on the four-person bungee. Water sports fans are also catered for: a 25m swimming court on the Beetzsee enables exciting competitions and refreshing fun in the water. Meeting point Brandenburg emphasizes that participation is possible for all age groups and experience levels and that everyone, regardless of fitness level, has the chance to test their own sporting limits.
Together for inclusion and fun
The motto of the event – “Join in and have fun” – couldn’t be more appropriate. The aim is to motivate the participants to achieve top performance and to focus on the joy of sport. The German Sports Badge, which is awarded in bronze, silver and gold levels, not only serves to recognize individual efforts, but also to promote inclusion. Since 1952, people with disabilities have also been able to take part in this challenge, for which adapted performance requirements apply. The German Disabled Sports Association explains that the sports badge offers special opportunities to promote self-confidence and sporting activity and invites people with and without disabilities to practice sports together.
Anyone who comes today can not only test their own limits, but also make new friends and do sports together in a supportive and motivating environment. Registration is particularly recommended for groups with more than five participants and can be done by calling 03381 – 300 305 or sending an email to info@ssb-brandenburg.de.
The event runs today until 7:00 p.m., and tomorrow, June 18th, the Brandenburg elementary schools can look forward to their own event from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. So there are enough reasons to get active and tackle the powerful sports badge!
