Kolkwitz and Drebkau start training fair - future for young people!

On July 15, 2025, the municipality of Kolkwitz and the city of Drebkau presented an important step towards professional future: The two municipalities signed a cooperation agreement to implement a joint training fair. This will take place on the school grounds of the Spree-Neiße comprehensive school for the first time on January 29, 2026 and will be organized annually in the future how Niederlausitz-aktuell.de reported.

The fair aims to offer regional and smaller companies a platform to present their training opportunities. This is to bring together students, parents, teachers and local companies. The district of Spree-Neisse supports this project, which aims to sustainably improve the training and labor market opportunities in the region.

strengthening the comprehensive school as an educational location

The focus is on the long-term nature of the initiative: You want to establish the Spree-Neisse comprehensive school as an important educational and meeting place. Mayor Karsten Schreiber von Kolkwitz and his Drebkau counterpart Paul Köhne underline the importance of this initiative in their statements. You see the training fair as a bridge between school education and professional practice that should make it easier for young people to make a well -founded decision about their professional future.

An additional digital component is offered: Students can already discover training offers via the online portal www.lausitz-jobs.de, which should make the upcoming trade fair. This creates additional, modern access to information that could reach more students.

regional cooperation for specialists of tomorrow

The training fair is part of a major initiative to strengthen the regional economy and to improve career prospects on site, as well as wirtschaft-lausitz.de emphasized. Small and medium -sized companies are invited to present their attractive training opportunities and to get in touch with future trainees.

A look outside the box shows how such events also gain a foothold in other regions: In April 2025 the largest training fair took place in Bruchsal, in which over 70 exhibitors presented around 450 apprenticeships and courses. A personal exchange between trainees and training companies, supported by career counseling, provided great interest among the young people and families from the region, such as on [wfg-bruchsal.de] (https://wfg-bruchsal.de/2025/06/regional-ausbildungsboers-bruchsal-am-5-april-2025- Exhibitor-Praesentieren-450-stellen- und-Studienbote/).

The upcoming training fair in Kolkwitz and Drebkau could therefore be a success if it offers the right incentives to inspire young people for the diverse apprenticeships in the region.
