Wish tree campaign in Forst: fulfill children's dreams until November 28th!
In Forst (Lausitz) the anticipation of the upcoming holidays is palpable! The 11th wish tree campaign officially began on November 3, 2025. From now on until November 28th, citizens can fulfill their wishes for children at various locations who might otherwise come away empty-handed. This heartwarming initiative is supported by the mayor and the dedicated “Wish Tree Campaign” preparatory group. The aim is to promote cohesion and civic engagement in the city.
In a colorful community project, children and their families created wishing balls in October, which are now displayed on the wishing trees. These special trees are available in several places in Forst so that your wishes can come true. The maximum amount for a gift is a hearty 15 euros. The wish tree locations are:
- Forster Stadtbibliothek, Lindenstraße 10–12
- REWE, August-Bebel-Straße 2
- Apotheke Cottbuser Straße, Cottbuser Str. 26
- Stadtwerke Forst GmbH, Euloer Str. 90
Invitation to present a gift
On December 17th, the children in question can look forward to a very special surprise when Santa Claus presents the collected gifts at 4 p.m. The children, their families and the supporters of the campaign are cordially invited to the ceremonial handover.
This initiative, which has already taken place several times, has not failed to achieve its goal. Numerous partners, such as the pharmacy on Cottbuser Straße, the Paul-Gerhardt-Werk, the Forster Tafel, Jugendhilfe Cottbus gGmbH and many more, are cooperating to make the campaign a success. The collaboration of these committed organizations shows that there is a strong network in Forst that supports social cohesion.
In addition, craft activities took place in October, where children up to 12 years old and their families could get creative. Together they made wish pendants and wish tree balls. The last craft event as part of the wish tree campaign took place on October 9, 2025 in the Healthy Children regional network and was a complete success that brought out many smiling faces.
The wishing tree campaign has an important purpose: it supports children who might not otherwise receive gifts. This is a great opportunity for the people of Forster to show solidarity and bring joy to the hearts of the little ones. If you have any questions or need more information, you can contact the Education and Social Affairs Department of the city of Forst (Lausitz).
All in all, a hearty “yes” to the wishing tree campaign – because every little contribution is worth its weight in gold, especially in the run-up to Christmas!
