Last Saturday the eagerly awaited “US Cars Classic” meeting took place in the picturesque garden of Diedersdorf Castle. Despite gray clouds and uncertain weather conditions, hundreds of classic car fans flocked to this special event, which was all about classic US vehicles from the last 100 years. Matthias describes himself as a passionate collector and owns a total of eleven US classics, including an impressive 1927 Chrysler, which he also rents out.
The fascination of vintage cars
This event not only attracted enthusiastic car fans, but also restorers like Toni Träder (39) from Hennickendorf. He brought two of his prized vehicles with him: a Ford from 1941 and a Pontiac from 1951. He has been restoring US classics for six years and has turned his great hobby into a profession. Another highlight was a red Ford convertible from 1966 that Ferdinand Mühlhäuser had brought with him from Berlin. This car is not only an eye-catcher, but was also featured in the music video “Teufel” by Toten Hosen.
Uwe and Sabine M. from Eberswalde proudly showed their 1935 Ford, which they had refurbished in a garage after 60 years. Stories like these refine the experience and show how deep the love for these vehicles runs.
