57 graduates celebrate their abi success: a new way of life begins!
Last weekend in the Uckerseehalle in Prenzlau there was an important moment for the pupils of the Christa-and-Peter Scherpf-Gymnasium: the ceremonial ceremony for their high school diploma. Headmaster Ludger Melters welcomed not only the graduates, but also their families, tutors as well as numerous supporters from the support association and the Scherpf Bagemihl Foundation. A nice frame for an important event!
In retrospect for the beginning of your school days, you can remember the 5th August 2019 when 86 students and their class teachers entered high school. In the course of their school days, eight other students increased the group in tenth grade. At the end of the adventure there were now 57 high school graduates who proudly received their certificate. It is particularly noteworthy that a student could reach the smooth one before the decimal point, while five other graduates were able to look forward to an average.gratifying average values
The average grade of the entire year was 2.1 and is therefore above the national average of 2.2. The specialist services are also striking: in German and geography, the students performed above the average of the country, while they achieved particularly good results in biology, history and mathematics. Melters expressed the desire for a return to the mathematical traditions of the 90s, which appears understandable in the entire Federal Republic in view of the development of diarrhea (4.6% in 2023, the highest value since 2010). This is a topic that runs through the history of education like a thread over the years, because the incidence fluctuates considerably in recent years, with exceptions in 2020 and 2021, when Corona pandemic influenced the exams.
like the kmk , the high school is the prerequisite for studying at universities or comparable universities, which makes it all the more important that 30 percent of the high school dates out Prenzlau strive for regular studies. There are also 23 percent who want to choose dual courses. It is striking that the proportion of those who are planning a social year has experienced an upswing of 15 percentage points compared to the previous year at 29 percent.
outlook for the future
Another interesting detail is that only 18 percent of graduates consider a manual training, while in 2023 this value was still 42.6 percent. A signaled rethink that also reflects national development. Twelve high school graduates have deliberately opted for study locations that lie away from the popular cities such as Berlin, Rostock and Greifswald, including Vienna. In his speech, Melters underlined how important down -to -earthness and national experience are for the development of the region.
At the end of the celebration, Melters thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the year and wished the high school graduates an unforgettable prom. A nice farewell to a chapter that opens many doors - not only in the region, but far beyond its borders.
