On June 16, 2025, football was the big topic in the state league: Angermünder FC not only secured the championship but also promotion to the state league with a 4-0 win against bottom-placed VfL Vierraden. The decision was made before the last matchday, which did not reduce the tension before kick-off. With 325 enthusiastic spectators, the AFC celebrated their early victory in the northern relay, while Vierraden unfortunately had to go to the district league as a relegated team.
In the game itself, it was striker Nico Hanse who shone: After just eight minutes, he put his team on the road to victory with the first goal. Kevin Dähnhardt extended the lead with a penalty kick, and Hanse added another goal so that Angermünder were already leading 3-0 at halftime. In the final phase, Pippo Bandt ended the game with a fourth goal. Northern Courier reports that Angermünde celebrated as well-deserved champions after an impressive season in the national league.
The relegated Vierraden
Despite all the setbacks that the team from Vierraden had to accept this season, they showed a fighting performance in this last meeting. They relied on quick counterattacks and tried to stand up to the Angermünders. Nevertheless, the team could not prevent Angermünde from rising. Fupa highlights that Vierraden's players end the season with valuable experience, even if the end didn't go as planned.
