Bifi boom in Guben: New factory creates over 100 jobs!

In Guben, in the picturesque Spree-Neiße district, Jack Link's recently opened a new factory for the production of mini salamis, better known as bifis. This opening marks a significant step for the company and the region Uckermark courier reported. Construction of the ultra-modern production facility began in October 2022, with the shell construction being completed in January 2024. Around 2 million Bifis are currently produced every week, which represents an economic stimulus for the region that should not be underestimated.

A highlight of the factory is the creation of over 100 new jobs. These positions are not only important for the local economy, but training positions for electricians, mechatronics engineers and food technology specialists will also be available from 2026. Jack Link's is therefore committed to a sustainable future for the region, supported by financial support of almost 11 million euros from Brandenburg from the “Joint Task of Improving the Regional Economic Structure” (GRW).

Growth plans and traditional history

Jack Link’s, founded in 1885, is best known for its high-quality dried and smoked beef snacks. The classic snack, beef jerky, now has a large fan base. The Bifis, which have been produced in Ansbach in Franconia for 50 years, are also particularly popular. The company culture, based on great-grandfather's high-quality recipes, dates back to an idea born during a hunt with Jack Link's family. The company now operates eleven production and sales facilities in four countries and offers a wide range of protein snacks, such as Bifi career explained.

With further plans to expand the Guben location and create space for three additional production halls, Jack Link's shows that they want to fully exploit the region's potential. This not only increases production, but also promotes regional added value.

Brandenburg's food industry in focus

The opening of the new factory is part of a larger trend in Brandenburg's food industry, which is characterized by small and medium-sized companies. These companies focus on quality, regionality and sustainability. The network of regional brands has achieved nationwide recognition, and numerous research institutions, including the German Institute for Nutritional Research Potsdam-Rehbrücke and several institutes of the Leibniz Association, promote innovative strength in the industry. The capital region of Berlin and Brandenburg is a European leader in the density of research in the areas of nutrition and agriculture MWAEK shows.

In summary, the opening of the Bifi factory in Guben is not only a win for Jack Link's, but also for the entire region. The combination of traditional craftsmanship, modern production methods and regional commitment offers a stable basis for the future and makes Guben an up-and-coming location in the food industry.
